Objective/Purpose of the Position
The Bartender crafts and serves beverages to the highest standard while delivering engaging, professional hospitality at the bar of a fast-paced, elevated California bistro. This role executes the cocktail and wine program with consistency and serves alcohol responsibly.
The Bartender works closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to uphold beverage standards and responsible alcohol service.
Tasks/Responsibilities
Beverage Execution
•  Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, and other beverages to recipe and presentation standards.
•  Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout service.
•  Manage bar inventory, par levels, and waste; communicate ordering needs to management.
Guest Service
•  Provide warm, knowledgeable, and efficient service to bar and dining guests.
•  Make confident recommendations on California wines and craft cocktails.
•  Resolve guest concerns and escalate to management when necessary.
Responsible Beverage Service
•  Serve alcohol responsibly in compliance with California ABC laws and RBS requirements.
•  Verify identification and refuse service to intoxicated or underage guests; notify management of concerns.

Operations & Compliance
•  Follow cash-handling, POS, and tip-reporting procedures accurately.
•  Follow all health, safety, and sanitation requirements and report concerns to management.
•  Participate in weekly inventory

•  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the duration of a shift.
•  Ability to lift and carry moderate loads (typically up to 35 pounds), such as trays, glass racks, and supplies.
•  Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
•  Frequent interaction with guests and staff, including clear verbal communication.
Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications
•  California Food Handler Card required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
•  California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required within 60 days of hire.
•  Minimum of 3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume, elevated environment.
•  Strong knowledge of California wines and classic and craft cocktails, with the ability to execute a cocktail program with consistency.
•  Comfortable working in a fast-paced, elevated bistro environment with a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality.
•  POS experience preferred.
